Threading care guide

Eyebrow Threading Aftercare

Simple, friendly tips to keep your brows calm, clean, and crisp after your visit.

Threading is wonderfully gentle — no hot wax, no harsh chemicals, just clean hair removed straight from the root. Still, your skin has just had a little workout, and a few simple habits afterward keep your brows looking their best. Here’s the eyebrow threading aftercare routine I share with clients here in downtown Mountain View.

The first few hours: soothing redness

A little pink or warmth around the brows right after threading is completely normal, especially on sensitive skin. It usually settles within an hour or two. To calm it faster, apply a cool compress or a dab of pure aloe vera gel, and let your skin breathe. Most clients walk out and go straight back to their day — a quick errand on Castro Street, coffee, or back to the office — with no fuss at all.

What to avoid after threading (the don’ts)

For roughly the first few hours, skin is a touch more reactive, so give it a short break from a few things:

None of this is complicated. Think of it as a gentle few-hour pause, and by evening your brows are ready for whatever your plans hold.

Tips for sensitive skin

If you know your skin runs reactive, mention it before we start — I adjust my technique and pace accordingly. Afterward, a cool compress and a simple fragrance-free moisturizer are your best friends. Skip new skincare products on the brow area that day, and any redness typically fades quickly. Threading is often the kindest hair-removal choice for sensitive and acne-prone skin precisely because nothing but thread touches you.

When to rebook: every 3–4 weeks

Because threading lifts hair from the root, regrowth comes in soft and even. Most clients love a touch-up every 3 to 4 weeks to keep their shape crisp and defined. Come in a little sooner if you have an event, or stretch it slightly if your hair is fine — your brows will tell you. Booking a standing rhythm makes upkeep effortless and your shape more consistent over time.
